I’m twelve years old, and I’m sorry to admit that I”m overweight. I’m not obese, but I’m afraid that my current lifestyle will lead me down that path. My goal is to lose 20 pounds by June, and then more over the summer. I’ve tried weight loss before, but after awhile, my results seemed less noticeable, and I ultimately gave up. I’m tired of being mocked, even by my friends. I’d like to enjoy the simple pleasures of shopping, swimming, and going out more often, but my weight had made me very self conscious.
My schedule is moderately busy, and I don’t always have the time to exercise. I’d like to find a lifestyle where I should exercise, of course, but I don’t want it to be one of the main factors of my weight loss. My diet is average, but it could defiantly do without my irregular snacking.
All answers are greatly appreciated. Thank you for helping me turn my life around.

Low carb is the best, safest I think. Cut out breads, pastas, sugars, sodas. Eat veggies, meat. Research the low carb diet but that is your best bet. 20 pds by June is not going to happen, most likely. but stay positive.

You must exercise! Even if it’s only a little bit…fit in what you can.
And try to stay away from junk food. Fill up on healhy things you enjoy. I know it’s hard, but also stop eating when you’re full. Maybe your portions are too large for a 12yr old. Good luck

i want to do the same way dont worry! im starting tomorow, just eat real healthy and avoid junk food! i know its hard but its the best thing to do, and if your always on the move then thats your excersise for the day. you dont have to excersise like crazy every day, even just walking alot like at school or after school activites youll get enough excersise. also try to do crunches different types liek the bycle , regular, side to side. and do about 20 of each every other day youll get abs right away trust me! at camp i did it every dance class and by 2 weeks i saw results, and 1 month i saw full results!!!
good luck and rember eat right because eating junk food will just make you feel full, tired, and bloated.

Okay, you are kind young, but i understand, i was a heavy kid and teen. So, try this: when you eat, try to cut your portion size down, NEVER supersize anything and eat slower. When you eat fast, your brain misses the signal from your stomach that you are full, and then you end up overeating. Also, walk walk walk. Try to walk thirty minutes every day. If you have a dog, walking him/her is a great way to do this, but always be safe, take an adult with you or a friend. I have lost 13 pounds doing this routine in the last month. Good luck!
I’d STRONGLY reccomend becoming vegetarian. It’s really healthy!!! I play volleyball and it really gets ya movin’! Of corse – eat as many green leafy veggies as possible and start exploring with your fruits!!
