i am just wondering…..is doing laps a good enough form of exercise for weight loss? should i added any more cardio or weights…..or is it enough???

I don’t think swimming by itself would be enough, as it’s not load-bearing. In other words, the water holds up a lot of your weight. You need to do load-bearing cardiovascular exercise like walking/jogging/running. Cycling is good cardio, but again, not load-bearing.
Weight training will help you build muscle and avoid getting floppy skin. You should AVOID losing a great deal of weight quickly, as you will certainly end up with floppy skin, as well as ill effects on your health. Probably you’ll also re-gain the weight quickly too.
Please get the advice of your doctor before starting your diet, and ensure you eat a balanced selection of foods from all the major food groups.
Do an exercise that you enjoy and one you find that won’t bore you.
